Cervical cancer is a type of cancer which gets developed in the cervix tissues. Cervix is the connecting organ between the uterus and the vagina. As the development of cervical cancer is very slow, its symptoms cannot be identified in the initial stages of this disease. Therefore, the doctors advise women to get regular tests of Pap smear. This cancer is commonly found in middle age as well as old age women.
In order to detect the possible problem of cervix cancer, the pap smear test is very useful. With the help of this test, if the possibility of cervical cancer is found, then diagnosis can be done in the early stage and can be cured. If this cervical cancer is left untreated, then it can get severe.
Signs of Cervical Cancer
Cervical cancer is developed when the cancerous cells start developing in the lining of the cervix of women. The cervix is the organ situated in the lower part of the uterus.
In the initial stage, the cervical cancer cannot be detected as there are no such warning signs. But, with the help of routine tests done annually, the precancerous cells can be detected. With the development of the cervical cancer, the signs that can be noticed include the discharge from the vagina which is yellow color and has a typical smell. The vaginal bleeding can be abnormal; pain in the back, painful urination and pain during the sex are some other signs of this cancer. If this cancer is not treated, then it can spread in other parts of the body.
Symptoms of Cervical Cancer
You may be living for many years without experiencing any major problem but, suddenly you may notice the symptoms of cervical cancer if the normal cells have been converted into the cancerous cells.
If a woman faces sudden changes in the menstrual cycle, bleeding from the vagina which is abnormal, severe pain during the sexual intercourse and discharge from the vagina containing spots of blood, immediate bleeding after the sex or even by pressing the diaphragm with the hands, then these are the symptoms of cervical cancer.
Cervical Cancer Treatments
Due to increase in number of women being affected by the cervical cancer, its treatments have become stronger then before.
One of the most important cervical cancer treatments include the pap smear test which helps in the detection of any type of abnormalities in the cells. If this test detects the possibility of cancer, then it should be treated effectively. The treatment of the cervical cancer in the early stage can develop the chances of having the children.
Some people try for the herbal remedies like use of garlic and ginseng which do not cause any side effects in the body. Garlic is very useful in reducing the growth of the cancerous cells and increases the growth of healthy cells. Garlic can be used in all types of cancer. The cervical cancer treatments used in the severe condition are chemotherapy, radiation therapy and hysterectomy in which the pelvic lymph nodes as well as the fallopian tubes and ovaries are required to get removed.
