Seborrheic dermatitis is a type of skin irritation. In this disease, the skin gets peel off. The scalp is the main portion which is affected in this disease. The other name for Seborrheic dermatitis is “dandruff“. The condition when found in the babies, then it is referred to as “cradle cap”. Except the scalp, the other parts of the body that gets affected by this disease are the arms, groin and the folds of the legs. Some of the symptoms found in Seborrheic dermatitis include peeling and the rough look of the dried skin.

This disease is common in guys as compared to ladies. There is possibility that the diet is responsible for this disease. Seborrheic dermatitis is usually found between the age group of thirty to sixty and in the babies that are smaller than three months.

Symptoms Of Seborrheic Dermatitis

Some of the common symptoms of Seborrheic dermatitis are irritation in the skin, redness, blisters, dryness, peeling, swelling and even red clusters on the skin. These symptoms are found on the areas where the oil glands are present. The symptoms of this disease can be mild as well as severe.

There are many treatments for this disease but, all depends on the age as well as the location of a person. You can be prescribed a lotion or a shampoo by your doctor according to the climatic situation of the location. Sometimes there are chances that normal remedies like changes in the diet or reducing the stress level may not work as Seborrheic dermatitis treatment.

Seborrheic Dermatitis Treatment

You should try to use warm water as the Seborrheic dermatitis treatment. Do not make use of the hot water. Ensure to completely clean the shampoo from the hair and also do not continue using the gels or sprays till the irritation settles down. If possible then always opt for a natural shampoo containing some additives and preservatives. Try to clean the dust and dirt properly from the hair. The products like selenium sulphide or the mineral zinc pyrithione can be of great use. During summers, try to avoid covering the head and wearing the caps in order to prevent your head from sweating.

You can use the gel or oil that contains vitamin E at the portion where there is a feeling of irritation. Include food products that are rich in vitamin E such as mustard greens, kale, sunflower seeds, almonds, papaya, bell pepper and blueberries. For the children suffering from Seborrheic dermatitis, kale is the best one because it tastes good and when given with little butter, the kids will like the most.

The herbal paste having no side effect can be prepared from the blueberry taking 1/4 cup combined with 1/2 teaspoons of vitamin E oil. Adding a small amount of olive oil is very beneficial. One of the causes of Seborrheic dermatitis is the stress and concealed immune system as they can make the condition worse. If the condition is very severe, then the anti-fungal or anti-yeast cream will be prescribed for the children in order to prevent this disease.
